You Christians look after a document containing enough dynamite to blow all civilisation to pieces, turn the world upside down and bring peace to a battle-torn planet. But you treat it as though it is nothing more than a piece of literature.

About This Quote

The Bible is a powerful book, to be sure. It has inspired generations of people and it’s no surprise that it’s also become a source of inspiration for the world’s biggest religions and philosophies. But when you stop and think about it, many parts of the Bible seem quite mundane. It tells us how we’re supposed to follow God by doing what we’re told and letting our leaders do what they say.

It also seems to encourage people to turn away from their family for the sake of following God. At times, it even seems like it could be dangerous when talking about people who are too loyal to their families. The Bible is littered with stories about people who love their families too much and refuse to fight for their beliefs or beliefs in general.

At best, they seem like self-indulgent and prideful people who refuse to follow God, and at worst, they seem like they might go insane without proper guidance from their family and/or God himself! So does this mean we should throw out the Bible? Of course not! In fact, there are some parts of the Bible that should inspire us rather than scare us.
